Review: FAMOUS by Gloria L.Geiger

June 28, 2016, 0 Comments | Comentarios

Greetings and welcome to my review for Famous ! I was given a ARC for an honest review and that's what I plan to do. Now before I start I would like to say thank you to Gloria Geiger responding to my message in the first place and being completely awesome. And secondly for being patient and understanding. Thank you :-)

Ever get the feeling you're being watched? Hollywood A-Lister Nicky Walsh has that feeling all the time. His face is recognizable, not even a baseball cap and sunglasses can hide who he is from his adoring public. They know him well, so does his stalker. He can't run, or hide, because his stalker knows where he us. All the time.

Realizing that he is on a collision course with this mysterious person. One he cannot avoid. One he knows he may not survive.

Will Nicky be the next tragic Hollywood statistic?

REVIEW

The first page of famous is a page turner. Nicky Walsh is an all American Heart throb ! the perfect guy with blond hair and blue eyes and a dashing smile. But the one issue I predicted that might occur was his habit of popping Xanax, A prescription drug to help his fear of crowds. Now our stalker is a whole different issue! In one word she's crazy! Nicky Walsh stalker is very diligent with her creepy text messages and her deranged love letters. Oh and let us not forget she's a murder. I won't spill the beans ... So your just going to have to pick yourself up a copy of Famous.
Now while reading Famous I personally found it a little long winded, which led to me because impatient. The main reason was because I wanted answers NOW !  But this being said, this didn't dramatically affect the quality of the novel. Ms Geiger in my opinion has a movie deal heading her way. Famous has a great plot which combines romance and suspense which would be fantastic for a mature audience. I would recommend Famous for a mature reading audience because there is violence and some sexual insistence. But all in all this is a great book and a nail biter. With a five star rating I would give it a 3.9, I look forward to reading more of Ms. Geiger work.

Book: +3.9/5 stars
Thanks for reading and until next time!

Title: Tempting Mr. Wrong
Author: Kerri Carpenter
Release Date: June 13, 2016

A little temptation never hurt anyone…
Lance Townsend craves freedom after years living a structured existence in the Army. But just as he’s about to start on his bucket list, Lance receives an unexpected request: check in on his goddaughter. The problem? The adorable little girl’s aunt is the one woman he’s never been able to forget.

Carly Quigley can’t believe her brother’s best friend, the man who jilted her years ago, is at her door. He claims her brother asked him to check in on her niece and their fixer-upper, but all either of them can focus on is their undeniable attraction. Carly knows Lance is counting down the hours to leave, which makes him the wrong man for her. Unfortunately, the wrong man has become oh-so-tempting.

EXCERPT

“Thank you,” she whispered.

“For what?” He was shocked to hear his breathing sounded so labored.

“For giving me the afternoon off. For making that cake. For helping with Mya when I botched everything. It’s a lot easier with you here.” She blushed. “A couple days ago, I would have never thought I’d say that.”

He kissed the tip of her nose. “Yeah, you didn’t seem too thrilled to see me.”

“No, I was…okay.” She laughed. “I wasn’t. To be honest, I was still thinking about my brother’s wedding. I’d never understood why you’d left me so abruptly back then.”

Warning bells sounded in the back of his mind at the mention of her brother. His best friend. It felt like a broken record was playing on repeat in his brain. And that record was titled Off-Limits, Off-Limits, Off-Limits.

Carly must have picked up on his thoughts. She took a small step back. “I know, you don’t want to kiss me. You don’t see me that way.”

He took her in from her swollen lips to the sexy business suit she still wore, to all of that amazing hair. Her eyes were practically twinkling, lighting up her fair, flawless skin. Did she have any idea how gorgeous she was? How appealing she was?

He shook his head. “That’s the problem, Carly,” he began, his voice coming out in gruff spurts. “I do see you like that. I’ve been fighting it since I got here.” He ran a hand through his short hair. “Hell, probably since Chris and Gretchen said I do.”

Her mouth fell open.

“I tell myself over and over that it’s wrong to think about you the way I do.”

A small smile played over her lips. “How do you think about me?”
He swallowed hard. “In a way that would definitely make your brother sucker-punch me in the face.”

REVIEW
** I received an ARC in exchange of an honest review **

I’m always happy to read a new Entangled Love Struck Romance, because in general they’re really good and their plots are appeal enough, anyways, this time we have Kerri Carpenter, she’s not new in this book-world but this is my first time reading one of her books; and for you to know —Tempting Mr. Wrong is the second book in the Wrong Man series, and it’s a standalone so there’s no need to read the first one.

Kerri tells us about Lance and Carly’s lives… something I liked was the fact that this two characters are pretty familiar with each other —and this not due a one-night-stand— Lance is or was her brother’s best friend, so you know, when there’s a brother in the middle, those best friends always try to behave well with their best friends’ little sisters, sometimes it ends in a bad way but others… Carly’s brother died and now she, as his only family, has the responsibility of raise his little daughter. She’s totally fine with it because she loves her niece, but then Lance shows up. After finding out —in a letter— that his best friend asked him to take care of his daughter —and of his sister— if something would have ever happened to him, he knows he can’t let his best friend down, so before starting his “new life”, he decides to visit his goddaughter… and her God Mother. But temptations are everywhere and if you already have a story, trying to fight it back maybe is more difficult to do twice. I liked their relationship and how they were when Mya’s was around.

Tempting Mr. Wrong is a sweet, sexy, light romance. It has the exact mix to make you enjoy your reading. I completely recommend it if you enjoy second chance romances or just if you enjoy a good story. And plus, Kerri’s writing was incredible, she knows how to do it.

Book Blitz: BURN OUT by Tee O'Fallon

Welcome to my #BookBlitz for BURN OUT by Tee O'Fallon!
I hope you like it! :)

Title: Burn Out
Author: Tee O'Fallon
Release Date:
June 13, 2016
Genre:
Romantic Suspense

He’s been a cop too long not to recognize the signs of a woman running from her past.

She’s not who she says she is—and isn’t about to share her secrets.

Sexy-as-sin Police Chief Mike Flannery knows the new arrival to Hopewell Springs is trouble. She has a smoking-hot body and a quick wit…and he’ll be damned if that’s not a turn-on. But this former NYPD cop and small-town heartthrob has been burned before, and there’s no way he’ll let that happen again.

New York City Detective Cassie Yates is on the run. A six-month undercover sting in a sleazy bar seemed like a textbook arrest—but now there’s a hit out on her. Armed with fake ID, her K-9 companion, and a police-issued SUV, she flees to a quiet upstate town where she trades her badge and gun for a spatula, finally finding peace in the dream she tossed aside to follow her family into law enforcement.

There’s no denying the fire and ice between them. But as the hired assassin closes in, Mike’s past comes roaring back and secrets are revealed in an explosion destined to tear them apart—if not destroy them.

EXCERPT

Mike grabbed his beer from the porch table and took a swig. Cassie sat across from him, inhaling her second slice of pizza. While she chewed, he rolled the cold bottle between his palms.

Just as he had back in the Nest, he was knocked speechless by how close he’d come to losing her. It had felt like a hockey puck whacked into his chest.

He set down the beer, grabbed his third slice, and began to make quick work of it. His eyes were drawn to Cassie’s mouth as she wrapped her lips around a piece of crust and pulled off a large bite. He imagined her pink lips wrapped around part of him, and he instantly grew hard.

Shit.

He reached for his beer again and chugged it.

There was no denying he wanted her. Wanted to make love to her until the sun rose, but what she needed most right now was sleep. Lots of it. Sleep was the best remedy for shock and stress, not some horny guy jumping her bones.

Focus on something else. Anything else.

Despite the missing parts to Cassie’s past, she was a good person, he knew that now firsthand. He’d seen her caring for her customers and colleagues as if they were her own family. During the robbery, she’d put her life on the line for Abby, a woman she barely knew. Cassie was one hell of a courageous, compassionate woman, and she deserved better than someone who could never open up to her.

The way he never could again.

“Mmm,” Cassie moaned as she chased after a runaway strand of stringy mozzarella hanging from her slice of pizza. Mike watched, spellbound as she entwined the long strand of cheese around and around her tongue before swallowing it. “I didn’t think you could get pizza this good so far away from New York City.” An orgasmic smile lit her face.

“Huh?” Mike blinked, then cleared his throat. “So you’re from the city?”

“I didn’t say that.” A devilish gleam came into her eyes. “Remember—”

“I remember.” He held up his hand. “A girl’s gotta have her secrets.”

“You’re learning.” She grinned as she licked her lips. Slowly. Enticingly. Thoroughly. The tip of her tongue slid across her upper lip from one end to the other, then slicked over her lower lip with the same erotic finesse.

Any more of this and I’ll come.

Mike set the metal clipboard on his lap, repositioning it twice before finding a comfortable spot that also covered his raging hard-on. He yanked a pen from where he’d clipped it to the pad of paper.

Raven took that moment to snort, as if she knew his secret. When he looked at the dog, he was pinned with an intense chocolate-brown stare.

That dog knows exactly what I’m thinking.

When Raven opened her mouth and began to pant, Mike could swear she was laughing at him, taking sadistic feminine pleasure at the physical torture he was enduring. With the grace of an athlete, Raven got up and laid her head in Cassie’s lap. Cassie gently ran her hand over Raven’s head and ears, then dropped a kiss on the silky black head.

“I can see how much you love that dog.” Mike was reminded of the close boyhood bond he’d shared with his German shepherd.

“She’s my rock.” Cassie smiled down at Raven, giving her another scratch on the ear. “My canine BFF.”

Welcome to the #BlogTourPromo for ALTERED by Marnee Blake! :)

Title: Altered
Author: Marnee Blake
Release Date: December 28, 2015

When “normal” ends, survival begins…

Blue Michaels doesn’t know who to trust. She wakes in her sleepy little town to discover everyone is dead—well, almost everyone. U.S. Army Specialist Seth Campbell is alive, and a handful of her friends survived. But they’re different—each of them has powers they didn’t have when they went to bed.

Oh, and someone wants them dead.

It’s going to take all of their gifts if they are going to survive until they can figure out what to do. Blue wants to believe Seth has their best interests at heart. That he really does want to take care of them and get them to safety. God knows she can’t stop thinking about him.

But, can she trust him with their lives…and her heart?

EXCERPT

None of them would ever return to their old lives. She held the injustice of it in her chest and lifted her hands.

Then the sound of metal grinding and creaking filled the air. The first propeller spun off with a squeal, twisting through the air like a feather on the breeze. It crashed nearby, skidding. The others followed, scattering around the field.

The first panel split from the side of the helicopter, crumbling into a ball and falling to the ground. The remainder of the aircraft pulled apart, leaving nothing but a few seats and the floor intact. It all came down, rubble all over the dirty ground.

She grabbed each of the men that had been on the helicopter out of the air, freezing all six of them. Bit by bit, she pulled their gear from their body. Everything. Clothes, weapons, right down to their underwear. All of it flew through the air and landed in the retention pond to the right of them.

Then, she dropped the men on the ground, hard enough that some of them looked unconscious and others rolled to their knees, coughing.

When she was done, she realized with a bit of detachment, that she couldn’t hear anything, only a faint ringing in her head. She only noticed that because Seth appeared to be yelling something, and yet, she had no idea what he was saying.

Dizziness washed over her, making her lose her balance. Or perhaps the ground was actually moving toward her, and she wasn’t falling. But she doubted it.

Release Day | Review: WEIGHTLESS by Kandi Steiner + Excerpt

June 20, 2016, 0 Comments | Comentarios

P.S. First of all, sorry for the late post, but I made a little mistake with my calendar and my to-do things had different dates since last week! I'm really sorry :( Anyways, here's the review, I hope you enjoy it! :)

Welcome to my #Review for Weightless by Kandi Steiner!

Title: Weightless
Author: Kandi Steiner
Genre: New Adult/Contemporary Romance
Release Date: June 16, 2016

I remember the lights.

I remember I wanted to photograph them, the way the red and blue splashed across his cold, emotionless face. But I knew even if my feet could move from the place where they had cemented themselves to the ground and I could run for my camera, I wouldn’t be able to capture that moment.

I had trusted him, I had loved him, and even though my body had changed that summer, he’d made sure to help me hold on to who I was inside, regardless of how the exterior altered.

But then everything changed.

He stole my innocence. He scarred my heart. He took everything I thought I knew about my life and fast-pitched it out the window, shattering the glass that held my world together in the process.

I remember the lights.

The passionate, desperate, hot strikes of red. The harsh, cruel, icy bolts of blue.

They symbolized everything I endured that summer.

And everything I would never face again.

EXCERPT

“I just don’t understand,” he said as he began rolling the ball up my calf. I moaned out loud, realizing that area was packed with trigger points, as he had called them.

“Don’t understand what?” I asked, still holding my breath as he rolled over my other calf. I leaned up on my elbows and turned my head back to meet his eyes.

He paused, holding the ball in place as he gazed back at me. “How could I never have noticed you before?”

I swallowed, almost more afraid of the brief tenderness I caught in his eyes in that moment than the usual hardness that existed there.

Shrugging, I answered his question just above a whisper. “I’m easy to miss.”

I held his eyes for a moment more before laying my chest back to the ground, resting my head on my arms. He started rolling the ball up my hamstrings and I closed my eyes tight. I thought I might explode from the mixture of pain and pleasure that rocked through my body. After a few moments, he spoke again.

“Maybe I just wasn’t looking.”

REVIEW
** I received an ARC in exchange of an honest review **

Primero lo primero...

This is my first Kandi's book ever, and it was pretty much an incredible read, and... I'm definitely reading another of her books soon. This is only-one book so it's fantastic for those who don't really like waiting for the next one. And of course, this thing due to the main characters being refreshingly-new from other books I’ve read was a good plus.

Kandi tells us a story with two characters that in a pretty-somehow-thing seem to be right for each other. I really enjoyed their love story, how they went through all, how they met, how they fell, and that kind of things. Specially her character, at seeing everything from a different POV she was really well-balanced and at the same time, someone who wanted to find herself and become who she truly was. Natalie is of that small group of character I can relate to without even think twice.

Weightless has many many turns that can let you wanting more along with surprising you, because if you don’t really know it, maybe you can’t really tell. At the end it has the perfect mix of romance, mystery, suspense —but of the good one, and other things that made of this book one that worth all the time you'll spend on it. I highly recommend it if you like not just New Adult but if you’re up for something completely different that can take you somewhere else. Kandi’s writing was great and has that thing that plunges you to a new-different world.

Book: +5 stars

PLAYING THE PERFECT BOYFRIEND by Julie Particka!

Title: Playing the Perfect Boyfriend
Author: Julie Particka
Release Date: June 6, 2016

She’s faking it…but he’s playing for keeps.

Wild child Jade Easler has never met a dick she didn’t like, but there’s only been one she thought about keeping. And now he’s back in town…right after she’s slept with charming Hollywood up-and-comer, Dean Hartley. The fastest way to get her ex’s attention? Show up on the arm of a sexy younger man. She just hopes Dean is up for the task of fake boyfriend…

When he hooked up with his beautifully curvy photographer, Dean thought he’d only get the one night she promised. But when she needs help convincing a former flame she’s ready to settle down, who is he to argue? He’ll get to show her—in as many ways as possible—that giving up crazy, hot sex for a stale, predictable life isn’t what she wants. And prove that what she needs is him.

EXCERPT
“I wanted to surprise you, and when you weren’t home, I came here. I guess I should have known you were entertaining.”
Or maybe Dean would stay after all. The emphasis on Isak’s last word got his ire up and made all his muscles tense. He had no intention of leaving Jade to explain on her own. Something about this felt like she was going to need backup. “Look, buddy—”
“Oh. I apologize if we gave you the wrong impression.” Jade wrapped her arm around Dean’s waist like it was the most natural thing in the world. “We were doing a shoot yesterday, and Dean made a wisecrack about feeling like he wasn’t good enough for me since I’d never let him stay over at the studio. So...we stayed.”
What. The. Fuck? Dean was good at improv, but this wasn’t anything he’d been prepared for when they walked out of the building. Or when they’d woken up this morning. Or...ever.
But something about her words clearly struck Alfredsson, considering the way his expression shifted to one of surprise and a hint of wariness. “The two of you are...together?”
“Of course,” Dean said, hoping like hell he was reading the situation marginally right. “What did you think?”
The way he stared almost longingly at Jade without even meeting Dean’s eyes made two things very clear. One, Alfredsson came expecting her to be available. And two, when he found a guy here, he assumed it meant exactly what Jade had said their interlude would be—a one-night stand. He’d seemed disgusted by the second possibility but disappointed at the idea the first was wrong. Who the hell was this guy to her?
Jade nestled close, and Dean instinctively put his arm around her shoulders. He wasn’t protecting her exactly, but part of him felt like he should. She smiled up at him and said, “I have to assume Isak expected me to be exactly who I used to be, but people change.”
“Clearly,” Alfredsson said. “It is good to see you so... grounded.”
“Thank you. There have been times I’ve regretted how things ended between us, but it simply wasn’t the right time for me.”
They’d been a thing—not just a one-nighter, but a thing. Based on how demure she was acting, Dean had a tough time believing that life with Alfredsson could ever have been what Jade really wanted. He pulled her closer. “I’m glad timing worked in our favor, kitten. I’d hate not having you in my life.”
Jade smiled up at him, but it was tight, forced, like he’d said exactly the wrong thing. “Ditto.” She turned to Alfredsson and added, “Dean and I have to get going, but we really should catch up while you’re in town. How long are you staying?”
Isak nodded, disappointment disappearing behind a mask of professionalism. “That sounds wonderful. I’m in town for about two months. Obviously, it’ll be a busy visit, but I’m more than happy to make time for you.” His eyes shot to Dean. “The both of you, of course. I’d love to get to know the man who stole your heart. Call me. My number hasn’t changed.”
“It was good to see you again, Isak.”
Dean stood there with his arm around her until Alfredsson was out of sight—and hearing. Finally, he was able to let the illusion drop. “Well, that was awkward.”
Jade sagged against the hood of her convertible and buried her face in her hands. “This is a disaster!”
“Not for me.” Dean sat down next to her and nudged her with his hip. “The hottest woman in all of Hollywood is apparently my girlfriend. I couldn’t be happier.”
She snorted a laugh—seemingly back to a shadow of the woman he’d spent the night with. “I am not your girlfriend.”
“Sure you are, kitten. I heard what you told Mr. Tall- Blond-and-Swedish. Also, I should probably know how long we’ve been a couple before we get together with him again.”

REVIEW
** I received an ARC in exchange of an honest review **

Playing the Perfect Boyfriend is the very first book I've read by Julie; In general, I enjoyed it even if there were a few moments when I thought I needed more of... whatever-thing-it-was. So I really recommend it. It's the third book in the Gone Hollywood series -I haven't read the other two, but they're standalone so, I think it doesn't matter.

Julie tells us about Jade and Dean, at first they have a professional relation... as in you-work-for-me relation, okay, more or less it was like that, anyway, then we have a very passional, very sensual relation...

Jade has been enjoying her freedom when it comes to work, when it comes to everything. She doesn't think she wants something more no-freedom thing, but when you haven't met the one that has the "power" to change it, then you think like that. Or maybe, it can happen than you start feeling that what you already have is not enough. But what you want and what you need are completely different if your heart and head can't come to terms, so yep, maybe your past -the man you thought was the one, actually, he isn't. Dean is persistent, he's younger than Jade but sometimes it seems he's older. Both of them have their problems, works, lives, friends, etc, but at the same time they seem to be perfect for each other, the one that can overturn your world (no idea how the saying is).

Overall, as I already said, I enjoyed it, and I recommend it, a not-so-common book with lots of sexy moments, okay, we have sweet, lovely moments, but come on! Jade and Dean, most of the time, enjoy life without remorse, and that comes with sexy, funny, sexy moments.
Book: +4

I'm only surprised, even at his young age, that he hasn't already moved out or been thrown in jail.He is everything I hate in guys: a disrespectful jackass, too damn full of himself. And that name he dubbed me with . . . I thought it was kind of sweet at first because for once he seemed genuinely nice about something, saying he loved the color of my hair. Then later he explained the real reason. Now every time I hear him say it and see the gleam in his eyes because I know what he's thinking, I blush clear up from the bottom of my spine to the top of my head.
"I love you so much Remi," he whispers against my lips as he continues to make love to me. "I don't think I'll ever be able to explain the depth of what I feel for you. I've known it since I was twelve. That first time my mom hired you. Do you remember that?"
I pull out of her and turn her around to face me then kiss her again sweetly as I gaze into her anxious eyes. "Don't say anything," I whisper not wanting to ruin this, reaching for a towel and I clean her up. "Just remember this." I say as I kiss her again and she kisses me back willingly. "Nothing we do will ever be wrong. You hear me? You’re mine and I’m yours. That’s how it’s always been and always will be."
